Imbalance

Definition

An area where price moved so quickly that there was no opposing price action, creating an inefficient zone. Price tends to return to these areas to rebalance. Also called a liquidity void.

Example

The sharp selloff left an imbalance between 1850 and 1835 in gold that price eventually returned to fill.
